3-flights into Beijing
On my 22-hour 3-leg flights into Beijing China. I photoed with an astronaut Lego at DCA, saw a salad vending machine at ORD. I found out the American Airline app has free entertainments and airport maps which are pretty handy to use during the flights. The flights costed me 37500 AA miles and $14.7.
My 2nd leg into HND will be 14 hours (2-hr layover) and my first visit this airport. I will spend the Japanese coins I got in 2002 at the exchange rate 1:100 which now is 1:150 exchange rate.
The last leg into Beijing only lasts 4-hr, then I will spend 5-day there with very full schedule packed with many reservations and on-site ticketing visits. Good luck to me to fight with the summer crowds in high heat.
JAL plane has old-style entertainment system that was hard to maneuver around, yet very good services with food, drink, and snacks I like. The choices of movies were bad but I caught up sleep and reviewed travel notes. I was very pleased to sleep on three connected seat for this 14-hr flight.
I asked for a drink list and startled with sake and a snack mix with 2024 Olympic design cheering for the Japanese team!
I had sake in an aluminum can for 200 yen from a Japanese super market back in 2002, which of course didn’t taste as good as this famous bland in flight and in a very stylish bottle-shaped can. Let me try to get one in the next flight to bring into Beijing.
It took me 20 min to pass via JP airport security check, then another 20 min to
use up 900 yen with a JP airport vending machine, then it was boarding time for the last flight into Beijing. I had a window seat to see Tokyo and Beijing from above, watched one movie, and ate more food and drink. The subways were moderately crowded, then I walked 900 meters to check in my hostel around 9 pm. It was nice, clean, and with AC.
I spent 2 hours to sign in all transportation apps with my Chinese cell number, to get ready for my 5-day tour of Beijing.
