Smolensk orthodox cemetery

I saw Smolensk orthodox cemetery on the way and made a small detour into the oldest continuously operating cemetery in Saint Petersburg. It occupies a rectangular parcel in the western part of Vasilievsky Island, on the bank of the small Smolenka River, and is divided into the Orthodox, Lutheran, and Armenian sections. It includes the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God. I saw devout natives, who come to kiss the walls of the Chapel to Ksenia of Petersburg and lay flowers on the graves of the cemetery's most famous occupants. It's a tranquil and beautifully kept corner of the city.
