Day 1 in Chengdu
Chengdu was so hot (38c, 100f). I was sheltered in AC in the airport then the subway, then the heat hit me on my 300 meters walk to the hostel. Then I ventured out on the street to find travel agencies to fix my excursions in sichuan 四川. I felt like a piece of human jerky. I ran into a Shanghai 上海 girl to walk around and tasted local food: pork feet soup (蹄花湯). It was a pity that she couldn’t join my trip to 黄龍 - 九寨溝,which I made all the booking with the help of the hostel owner who used to be a tour guide in that area. I bought spicy egg fried wide noodles (麻辣蛋炒河粉) to eat in AC of the hostel for dinner. I still have a lot trip planning to do while adjust the 5-hr time difference from Russia.
This hostel is located in a convenient area and with a lot of amenities, library, dining area, table tennis, etc. it only costs me $7 for my bed in a 4-bed female dorm room.
