Day 3 in Mt. Lu 庐山

I took a bus on the mountain to go hiking in the Sandiequan 三叠泉 Scenic Area. From the first fold to the second fold, I walked in a path along a stream for one hour while a lot of tourists taking a small train. From the second fold to the third fold, I walked down about 1,200 steps (800 meters in height) to see the waterfall, then climbed all the way back up. The Sandiequan waterfall originates from Dayue Mountain. Due to the different strata and lithology, it has formed three steps after long-term erosion. The water flows down the steps to form three waterfalls with a total drop of 155 meters.

Lulin Lake 芦林湖 is surrounded by mountains, lush pines and cypresses, and has beautiful scenery. It was originally a Lulin Valley with reeds and wild animals, located between the Yuping and Xingzhou peaks. In 1954, a dam was built between the two peaks to store water, and it was completed the following year. The dam is 32 meters high, 120 meters long, and 12 meters wide. The entire lake area is about 90,000 square meters and stores 1.2 million cubic meters of water. The lake water is clean and clear, as clear as a mirror, and the reflection of the mountains is very interesting.

Lushan Museum 庐山博物馆 is located at the bank of Lulin Lake and at the foot of Jiuqi Peak. It is the place where Mao Zedong 毛泽东 lived during his stay in Lushan, known as Lulin No. 1 Villa. The villa was built in 1961, with a single-story flat roof and an inner courtyard with a total area of 2,700 square meters. It was converted into a museum in 1984. The courtyard is full of green pines and cypresses, fragrant flowers and plants, and the environment is quiet and beautiful.

The Lushan Big Tianchi 庐山大天池 is located at the top of Tianchi Mountain in the northwest of Lushan Mountain. The pond is rectangular in shape, with clear and bright water like jade. The pond was originally a pond for releasing animals in Tianchi Temple. Tianchi Temple is the oldest temple on the top of Lushan Mountain. It was founded by the monk Huichi of the Eastern Jin Dynasty and was formerly known as Fengding Temple. It was renamed Tianchi Temple in the Song Dynasty.

The Nuona Pagoda Courtyard 诺那塔院 is located in the Tianchi Pagoda 天池塔. It is the only Tantric Buddhist temple in southern my country that is open to the public. The pagoda houses the stupa of Nuona Hutuktu, a famous patriotic living Buddha in modern times, a special Tibetan-style Lama pagoda, and Tibetan Tantric deities, ancestors, and guardians.
