Yongchunbei 永春
I met a college classmate at Yongchunbei 永春 for lunch. While waiting for her, I saw a local library and suddenly remembered a grad school classmate lives nearby and contacted him for a chat over his breakfast.
I then had lunch with the college classmate at a famous Halved pork rice鹵肉饭 restaurant. After lunch, we walked to the Yongchunbei Ecological Wetland Park 永春陂生態濕地公園 located at the foot of Four Beasts Mountain in Xinyi District, covering an area of about 4 hectares. In addition to creating a diverse water area and forest habitat with ecological functions, it can also connect the Four Beasts Mountain (Tiger, Leopard, Lion, Elephant) trail system.
The Leopard Mountain Stream Trail 豹山溪 歩道is located near Yongchun High School and is combined with the Yongchunbei Ecological Wetland Park to become a new green space at the foot of Leopard Mountain. There are landscapes and pavilions at the entrance of the trail for rest, and you can appreciate the ridge of Leopard Mountain and the geological landscape of the huge rock wall. The trail runs along the Leopard Mountain Stream and reaches Songshan Road, where you can see the Songshan Lingyin Temple Archway. There are many temples on the mountain.
Afterwards, we walked down the mountain along the Hushan Creek Trail 虎山溪步道. The trail is paved with stone slabs, stone steps, and plank paths. It is flat and easy to walk on. There are the trickling water of Hushan Creek and many natural wetland plants, and we passed the Huxiao Pavilion on the way.
I then went home and bought a chicken steak rice 雞排飯food box nearby, which costs only 90 NTD ($2.😎, much cheaper than USA but more expensive than takeouts in China.
