Day 2 in Yangshuo 阳朔
Rather than riding on a Bamboo Raft, I rented a scooter to tour the Ten-Li Gallery 十里画廊 that is located in Yangshuo Moon Mountain. It is called Yangshuo Ten-Li Gallery because of the picturesque scenery along the road. The main attractions along the way include Dolphin Out of Water, Flame Mountain, Dragon Horn Mountain, Qing'e Scenery, Ancient Banyan Scenery and other mountain and rock scenery. When US President Carter came to Yangshuo Ten-Li Gallery to visit, the bodyguard who came to explore the way told Carter that the attractions here are particularly interesting and it would be a flash to take a car. After hearing this, Carter asked the reception staff to ride a bicycle to roam the Ten-Li Gallery. For this reason, the local government specially built a 10-mile bicycle path in 2000, with viewing platforms, rest pavilions and other facilities along the way for tourists to enjoy the scenery along the way. There are many peaks in the Ten-Li Gallery Moon Mountain Scenic Area, fir rock climbing.
I continued riding the scooter on a footpath of Yulong River 遇龙河 that is the longest tributary of the Li River 漓江 in Yangshuo. On both sides of the Yulong River, there are continuous green mountains, overlapping bamboos and shady trees. The main attractions in the Yulong River Basin include Fuli Bridge, Yulong Bridge, the ruins of Guiyi Ancient City, Xiangui Bridge, and the residences of Jiuxian. I rode by the ruins of Guiyi Ancient City 归义古城遗址 not knowing or seeing the ruins. I gave up Fuli Bridge 富里桥 and returned to the town because too much sunburn after 6-hr scooter ride. I ordered a honey pork rice 蜜汁烤肉饭 take out around 4 pm, and then went out 8 pm to check out a rice noodles place 螺满地螺丝粉 to eat 正宗桂林米粉 recommended by the hostel owner.
